Child Director Job Description                           

 

 

 

 

 

I.                     Purpose

The director of children will be taking care of anything that is related to child care.  This includes having games planned, watching out for their overall well being and taking care of their essential needs.  The director will entertain the children, make sure they are fed and be in charge of their growing and learning while at camp.

II.                   Qualifications

The Children’s Director will be expected to have experience with children.  This person must have patience, fill out a criminal report, and explain why they like to work with children.  This person must be a Christian and have some degree in children’s ministry or have taken some courses in working with children.  The person must also have completed first aid and C.P.R tests. 

III.                  Relationships

The Children’s Director will be answering directly to the Assistant Director.  That means if anything goes wrong, or if their needs to be some assistance of a situation, the Children’s Director will go to the Assistant Director.  The person who will take the position of Children’s Director will basically be a big part of leadership at camp, but his main boss besides the Camp Director will be the assistant to the head honcho.  The person filling this title should have close ties with other leaders on camp to coincide schedules and activities with one another.  Their needs to be unity amongst the workers and the Children’s Director plays a big part in our team at camp. 

IV.               Responsibilities

The main goal is to make the children feel comfortable, see that they are enjoying themselves while learning and growing in the physical, mental and spiritual aspects, and looking over their overall well being.  The Director of Children needs to…

            1.Prepare a set schedule for the children to follow…daily.

            2. Have a lesson prepared for each day….both educationally and spiritually centered.

            3. Give them free time to play and do whatever.

            4. Build relationships with the children  on a personal/ one-on-one basis.
