Knobstone DRIVING DIRECTIONS

The following directions might help you get to the two end-of-trail trailheads, and between them. They are written by students from past classes…if you have corrections send to coach d at keith.drury@idwes.edu

TO GET TO DELANEY TRAILHEAD (Northern terminus)

I65 south to exit 29 (US 56) @ Scottsburg—go WEST on US 56 toward Salem

Go to SALEM

At the red light in Salem turn RIGHT (North) on rt. 135

North of Salem turn RIGHT on DELANEY PARK ROAD (Brown sign on right)

Wiggle and turn—stay on this road for about 5 miles…pass church on left,

Soon after church jog right then turn LEFT (not a Tee--watch for this) still “Delaney Pk Rd.”

Go a couple miles to DELANEY PARK sign--turn RIGHT at the sign for Delaney

(Trailhead is far down this road---all the way past everything and next to the creek—if you tell them at the gate you are going on the trail they shouldn’t charge you an entry fee)

TO GET TO DEAM LAKE TRAILHEAD (Southern terminus)

I 65 South to Exit 7 (Sellersbug) Route 60

Get on state route 60 heading West/right

Stay on route 60 (it jogs right when 111 comes in on left)

Watch in several miles on right (Just after the storage rental garages) for Brown DEAM LAKE SIGN --Turn Right here on Deam lake road

go over bridge, over RR tracks and fairly soon look for next turn...

Turn RIGHT on WILSON SWITCH ROAD

Wind and wiggle a bit... 1 1/2 miles to SOUTHERN TRAILHEAD on left…park here.

Directions from DELANEY LAKE (Northern Terminus) TO DEAM (southern Terminus)

coming out of park turn LEFT at sign this is Delaney Park Road

Pass Spurgeon Hollow sign to left

2 miles from Delaney come to TEE in road--turn RIGHT

wind about as if lost, pass junk cars on left

it is still Delaney Park Road, though winding

Come to TEE about 8 miles from Delaney..this is State Rd 135

Turn LEFT on state 135

Pass thru Salem town square..stay on 135

Turn LEFT on 60 at Sunoco station

Thru other little towns..like Pekin, Borden

Turn LEFT at DEAM Lake brown SIgn

(Just before the storage garages)

go over bridge, over RR tracks.

Turn RIGHT on WILSON SWITCH ROAD

Wind and wiggle a bit... 1 1/2 miles TRAILHEAD on left

FROM DEAM LAKE (southern Terminus) TO DELANEY (Northern Terminus) ON ROADS

At Trailhead turn right/West

This is Wilson Switch Road

come to TEE... turn LEFT in Deam Lk Rd

go 1 mile to State #60 turn RIGHT/North

Thru Borden, Pekin

come to TEE at State rd 135--turn RIGHT on 135 N

Thru town square of Salem...stay on 135

Out of Salem turn RIGHT on Delaney Park Road (Brown sign)

Wiggle and turn here and there for about 5 miles

Turn LEFT (not a Tee--watch for this) still “Delaney Pk Rd.”

Go a couple miles to the sign--turn RIGHT at the sign for Delaney
